Fabric Sculpture
The Illusion of Care
Used clothes , wire, buttons
The purpose of a bandage is to protect a wound so that it can heal but, in this piece, it fails to do its job. The bandage becomes an unnecessary accessory, leaving the wound it is supposed to protect vulnerable. The piece is crafted from red fabric scraps, stitched together to represent the texture of flesh, with a hand-sewn bandage positioned over it—highlighting the tension between the act of covering and the inability to truly protect.
