In response to Hito Steyerl’s essay “A Thing Like You and Me,” I designed an eight-page booklet titled UNI. Using a three-column grid, I organized the content of each spread through a consistent, logical system that reflects the essay’s central tension between objectivity and subjectivity. Steyerl challenges the conventional resistance to objectification, instead proposing that we relinquish the role of the subject and embrace becoming an object. To represent this idea, I removed the ‘subjects’ from the images, leaving there to only be blank screens and canvases.
